Coastal Walks & Nature Trails: Kongsen
Embark on an effortless journey up to Kongskleiva, a trail adorned with stairs skilfully crafted by Nepalese Sherpas. The name itself “Kongskleiva” carries a regal resonance, as “Kong” translates to king in Norwegian. Legend says a king is buried at the top, adding an intriguing allure to the ascent.
As you ascend, be prepared for not just breathtaking views but also the possibility of encountering a majestic golden eagle soaring above or crossing paths with the region’s wild sheep residents.

Island hopping by boat: Møkster
To get to some of the smaller islands in Austevoll you can travel on one of the local boat routes. There is no road connection or car ferry to the island, but there are still a few permanent residents. The first thing you’ll see when you disembark from the boat is the local restaurant Havnechefen. A great place to enjoy nice food and drinks by the seaside. At Møkster you might also catch a glimpse of the sea eagles. The island has nice beaches, beautiful hikes and a shop. You can also spend the night here, just remember to book in advance. (email: mokster.info@gmail.com)
