If you’re a U.S. citizen, you do not need a visa to visit Norway for short stays of up to 90 days within a 180-day period. Your passport must be valid for at least three months beyond your planned departure date from the Schengen area (which includes Norway). This should not be required for the wedding if things don’t change but, starting in the last quarter of 2026, visa-exempt travelers will need to obtain an ETIAS to enter for short stays of up to 90 days within a 180-day period. More information here.

Currency Information

The currency used in Norway is the Norwegian Kroner. It’s not really necessary to have a lot of Norwegian Kroner as credit cards are the most common payment method in Norway. Credit cards are accepted everywhere and preferred in most cases. MasterCard and Visa credit cards are the most universal. If you have a credit card with no international transaction fee it will be your best option. 

Cellular Information

It’s very easy to find WiFi in Norway and a Norwegian/European cellular plan is not required. You can easily stay connected using WhatsApp, Signal, Viber, or your favorite messaging app. Airalo is a EU cellular plan that may be an option if you would prefer to have cellular during your trip.

Weather in Bekkjarvik in June

June marks the beginning of summer in Bekkjarvik. Days are long, with plenty of daylight, though rain is possible. On average, June sees rainfall on about 13–14 days, typical for Norway’s west coast.
